The Good Life

Where life feels as good on the inside as it looks on the outside

Hey there Reader,

There are moments when everything feels uphill.

You don’t get the encouragement you hoped for.

The people you usually lean on are distracted, busy, or just not there.

And the voice in your head starts to whisper: “It's not working.”

That’s why this week’s quote from Visualise by Maya Raichoora landed for me:

“There are going to be times in your life when no one is in your corner. But if you are in your corner, nothing can stop you. You have to back yourself. Think of yourself as your biggest fan. In sport, you have casual fans who turn up to a game or two and generally pay attention when the team is doing well. Then you have the die-hard fans who show up regardless of whether their team is winning, losing or getting relegated. Those are the fans who make a difference. You might lose a game now and then, but your spirit doesn’t need to break. So don’t just become a fan, become a die-hard fan of your own life.”

So the question is: Are you showing up for yourself like a fair-weather fan
 or a die-hard?

Not just when things are going well. But when motivation dips. When doubts get loud. When you’re showing up and it feels like no one’s watching.

That’s where resilience is built.

That’s where belief becomes a habit—not just a feeling.

🔧 Tool to try

A pre-game pep talk—just for you

Before you head into something that feels challenging this week, pause and ask:

  • If I were backing myself 100% right now, how would I show up?
  • What would I say to myself if I were my own biggest fan?

Then try saying it. Out loud.

(Yes, it might feel awkward. But do it anyway.)

đŸ–‹ïž Something to consider

Your self-talk sets the tone for your life. Make sure it sounds like someone who’s in your corner.
